EPN
797 – Patent-pending novel composition
EPN 797 is a patent-pending proprietary composition
developed by Nova and is standardized to contain the following
two categories of therapeutically active compounds:
- Corilagin, and
- Phyllanthus flavonoids.
EPN 797 is called standardised extract because it is characterised
both with respect to the chemical composition (chemical fingerprint)
and the pharmacological activities (pharmacological fingerprint).
Standardised extract is used to ensure the quality of EPN
797 is reproducible and consistent from batch to batch as
well as the potency are present and consistent in every batch.
Herbal extracts have been prepared by traditional methods
and have been viewed by the health authorities with sceptism
because of their variability and inconsistence. Therefore
a higher degree of consistency is needed to ensure the composition,
biological activity and quality herbal extracts.
Standardised Phyllanthus niruri extract EPN 797 is a natural
extract produced from aerial part of cultivated Phyllanthus
niruri plants by a standardised extraction method called Nova-PhytoTech™
Process. |
